Daisy is the best bartender ever!!! Been coming here and she's so pleasant!!! Very polite and fast. I have a great time every time I come here
One of my go to sushi places for a nice quick lunch. The quality isn't as good as kumo or kotobuki but the price is reasonable. The lunch special is the most worth it. Their customer service is pretty good and are pretty attentive. I normally order salmon avocado rolls and salmon over rice. Also it is right next to a Pokémon gym for all you pokemon go players lol.
I have a mushroom and shellfish allergy and have never had a problem ordering from hibachi restaurants. I've always been assured that the food will be cooked safely and separately in the kitchen.
Last night my husband and I ordered takeout from Mugi and I ordered Hibachi Chicken and specifically requested for no mushrooms or seafood. I also ordered a side of Chicken Cheese Maki (Deep fried chicken breast rolled with scallion, vegetable & cheese). Thank goodness I didn't dive into the food before inspecting it, because not only did my hibachi vegetables contain mushrooms, my husband tried the Maki first and they didn't have any of the above mentioned ingredients but instead had crab(or something similar) AND mushrooms. This combination is practically deadly for me!!! I specifically stated that I had an allergy in my order. My husband did love his food, but unfortunately I was left without dinner.
I understand that it was my decision to order from a restaurant that cooks this type of food, but I do feel it is the restaurants responsibility to notify me and let me know if it isn't possible to cook for me. I would have greatly appreciated the honesty and transparency if that were the case, but instead they made the food and didn't take my allergies seriously. I could make a bigger deal about this, but I just wanted to leave this here for anyone else in a similar boat. This is not a good option for people who need food accommodations. You're better off eating elsewhere, unfortunately people with allergies cannot trust that restaurants take them seriously.
My fiancee and I went here for the first time at around 8:30 on Saturday, August 25th. The place was completely empty with the obvious exception of the staff, which was a bit unsettling, but not a big deal for me.
My first impression of the place is that it's very clean and comfortable. The staff was very warm and friendly and took to our needs instantly. Based on other reviews, I hope it's not because it was dead inside, but I'm not going to rule that out.
To me, the food was excellent. I got the Chicken Katsu, which was a much bigger portion size than I get from other Japanese restaurants. I almost didn't finish it. However, my fiancee got the Shrimp Teriyaki. She said it tasted "old" and "fishy." She couldn't finish her meal and barely touched the shrimp. I tasted one but, seeing as I'm not a big shrimp eater, couldn't tell the difference.
Overall, other than the odd smell of the actual menu (moldy), I enjoyed the place and plan on returning. My fiancee, however, recommends not getting the fish.
It's a shame that the sushi was really good. I will never come back to this place again. The workers here are the rudest human beings I've ever met. Several times I had to ask for things for the table such as utensils. Not to mention, someone in my party ordered a steak dish and the meat was over cooked, chewy and impossible to eat. When asking for a knife to cut their meal, they said they didn't have one. Just very rude and not friendly. I look for positive vibes and a good atmosphere and this was definitely not the place to go to, to get that.
